The Comedy of Errors Summary After both being separated from their twins in a shipwreck, Antipholus and his slave Dromio go to Ephesus to find them. The more they try to unravel the lunatic events around them, the more farcical their lives become.

The simultaneous presence of the two brothers explains the numerous misunderstandings. The abbess discusses his supposed madness with Adriana, but refuses to let her enter the priory.
The other set of twins lives in Ephesus, and the new arrivals cause a series of incidents of mistaken identity.
