Terrace Stair With Stone Balustrade• This is a first class book packed with information from a time when the joinery trade hand skills were exceptional, but it still has relevance today with the increasing demand for high quality work in both new build and refurbishment from those lucky enough to afford it. This, the author's last book, was originally issued in two volumes; the present edition is a reprint of the 1932 one-volume edition.

Regardless, if you are a woodworker, particularly a stairbuilder, you are not complete without a copy of this book on your shelf. We hope you enjoy your visit. I think Keith would agree with me on this. This guide to building custom staircases, including elliptical stairs and continuous incline stairs, explains the tangent principle for the advanced woodworker.
I now can appreciate better why so many recent 'off-the-peg' stairs just don't quite have the harmonious proportions of older ones.
It is well organized, and about as clear a manual for the craft as one could hope for.
